Better yet get out your magnifying glass. I hope the good one comes soon!

School Pics

Deo is doing great in school, he loves it and it seems his vocabulary is expanding and he is learning other things as well. He was just debuted in the halloween performance at his school and he is a star! He was the only kid sing and dancing and doing the hand movements on center stage. He even clapped for himself. He loved the crowd, as opposed to me that would have ran away crying. I ordered the video from the school because amongst all the excitement I forgot to zoom on my camera and ruined the whole thing. (you can't zoom once you hit record on my camera) I will never live that one down, Ilich will be sure of that!
I will post the terrible video that I took anyway so you can try to put your face up to the computer to see him. He is in a blue shirt and devil's horns. He wouldn't put on his halloween costume for me but the teacher got him to wear those for the stage.

Still Busy!

I have been crazy this week. AGAIN. Yes it never ends. Sometimes its frustrating to work from home because you never leave it. I know some people don't really ever leave there job anyway but I have to do it while at home. So home has no refuge. And I do things that never really get done. There is always something else that is waiting to be listed on Ebay, always. So I have to give myself a little chunk at a time and say okay I finished the chunk.
I went to a thrift store the other day where everything was $.94 in the store. Yay! I bought 107 things. I would be happy just to make $5 a piece, but of course I hope they will bring in more. Some are good, some are crap. But I have learned it pays to add some $.99 listings to your store just to pull people in and you really don't make anything but $2 or $3 dollars on those items. Think of it as a marketing expense.
Deo is getting very big and HEAVY. It kills me to carry him around! He absolutely loves school and runs to the door when I drop him off in th morning. He loves his brother Alexander and runs around whining Brover (brother) looking for him. His vocabulary is expanding and we do underpants time at home every evening. He sits on the potty but hasn't gone yet. He pees on his feet in his underwear and doesn't like it but he doesn't quite get to go in the potty yet. And I think he thinks you have to be totally nked without a shirt to sit on the potty which is going to start problem when they start potty at school. He is going to want to take his shirt off too. He doesn't wear clothes in the house alot that is why he sits on the potty with his shirt off, because he didn't have one on in the first place.
Kai came over the other night, they love eachother. Thats them in the bath, eating yogurt on the kitchen floor and hugging.
I bought that fake aquarium for Deo the other day. He likes it, it is hanging on his wall now.
Thats Deo and his "Gicks" (stickers). We walk around the house with them stuck to our faces.
The first picture is what he does with those packages of peanut butter and cookie sticks or cheese and crackers. He doesn't eat them.

Coming up for air....

I just finished a paper for school that had to be at least 10 pages. Mine was 16. I have been totally crazy trying to juggle Deo, school, ebay (honestly haven't done much of that-thats what has been slacking) Ilich and eating sleeping and breathing. I am so stressed! School is hard and I just can't seem to find the time to do it!
Deo has been going to school everyday and he loves it! He is such a little man and sooo smart!NO MORE BOBO!!!! Can't you believe it? I never thought I would get rid of that thing. And let me tell you I wished I had it some of these days. My once well behaved child has become a spawn of satan. I think it is a mixture of not having the BOBO to calm him and the onset of the terrible 2's. Wow that expression really isn't a joke. I was in tears 3 times this week because of his behavior. But his personality has also grown, he is so funny too. I just have to keep him busy as best as I can.

Swimming lessons
Deo has become afraid of the pool if I bring him in past the stairs. I am upset this is happening because he used to love swimming so much. I started his swimming lessons today and he cried the whole time. I started by having him hug my neck and I hold his legs and make him kick all around the pool and say "kick, kick, kick" over and over. I do this for like 5 minutes then my arms hurt and I am sick of hearing myself say "kick" but I hear that repetition is key. I do 5 minutes sessons of kicking 3 times letting him play inbetween because the people in the surrounding apartments must think I am killing him because he is crying so much. But this is for his own good, he'll get used to it. At the end of the kicking sesson he gets dunked under and I yell kick very loud while he is under. He hates it. Seriously.
I couldn't get one kick out of him on his own today he would just lay there with his legs out crying while I floated him around the pool. I hope he gets better.
I am going to do this every morning for the next few days and afternoon too if it is not really hot.
When you ask Deo how old he is he says "2" now. I will get it on video for you.

Busy Busy Busy & new car-yay!

I am so busy lately getting ready for the even busier time that is coming up ahead. I start school next week and Deo starts the week after. I hope I can successfully juggle a child, school, Ebay work, Ilich and still clean the house and have time for sleep in there somewhere. And I have to start making a certain amount a week on Ebay because we currently lost a large part of our income, so the pressure is on! I am up to my eye balls in vintage clothing and the "to do pile" that sits on my dining room table waiting to be put up for auction only gets smaller then gets repiled in a never ending circle of vintage and ebay madness. So is my life.
But Deo is doing great and I can't wait for him to start school. I bring him to the gym daycare every morning just to get him used to being away for a couple hours every morning. I am slowly getting us (yes BOTH of us) on a earlier schedule because he will have to be to school for 8:20. That is when we wake up now so I have to start the day at 6:30 or so soon. But we used to wake up at about 9:45 so we are getting there I guess.
Look at our new car! I love it. It should be here soon. (We bought it up in MA a couple weeks ago) Thanks everyone for helping us get such a nice car. We love you Gram and Dad!

Fireworks shmireworks
We brought Deo to see the fireworks yesterday. They were supposed to start at 9 but didn't start until around 9:30 or so. The beach was packed and it was hot and sticky. We got there around 7:30-8 and went to Las Palmas first. We waited forever to see the fireworks and Deo has already been getting cranky at Las Palmas so by the time we actually saw anything he was screaming. I had high hopes for him to see the fireworks, I thought he would say "whoa, coo" (cool) and be all cute but he just didn't want to be there with all those people I think. So we left and went home and he was happy to be home instead. Maybe next year.
Happy 4th everyone!

Tofu "blocks"

Here are some pictures of Deo eating his favorite dish from the sushi place. He eats a california roll with baked crab and other fish on top. And a tofu and chicken soup. We also have him saying sushi now, its so cute.
While we were eating together he picked up a piece of tofu and kept saying "bok bok" and I had no idea what he was saying. Then Ilich said Block. He calls his pieces of tofu blocks and stacks them up like blocks. It was so cute! I thought it was pretty smart of him to associate the shape of what he was eating with his blocks.

Day at the pool

Today we started the day by going to the beach. I have been bringing him there for the last few days, but usually at about 5:30 when it is not as hot. But today I brought him at about 2:30 and we got ice cream at one of the shops there. He liked that. But it was way too hot to hang out there. I am not a big fan of going in the ocean in the first place but lately there is a ton of seaweed in the water and near the water so I really don't want to go near it. Deo didn't want to go in there either so I went back to the house and brought him to the pool instead. Here are some pictures of him playing around. He didn't let me bring him in the pool past the stairs today though, I hope he is not getting scared of the water. He has dunked himself in a couple times while playing on the stairs and he cried after I pulled him out. So today he just played on the first stair and ran around the patio.
We also went to the mall for he could play in this little play thing they have there. I have been bringing him there lately because My Gym is only open certain times and it is so hot and buggy at the parks outside. I wish there was something closer to bring him to play inside. You know where he loves running around? the dollar store. He thinks the dollar store is a playground.
Deo looks pretty cool in his speedos right? Hes very european.

Reading and Deodorant
We read books every night before we go to bed. We have look and find books that he knows just about everything in. And there are alphabet books and other vocabulary books as well. Deo loves reading.
He started this little whining like a puppy sound. Its a fake little high pitched cry that he does for attention, Im not sure where he got it from. he just came up to me and did it while I was typing. Its funny.
I found him hiding putting my deodorant on his face today. He got it out of my bag. At least he wasn't eating it. I did catch him trying to eat it once, well... he did have a taste last time and found out it doesn't taste too good. (that was one of my 3 calls to the poison control lately) I guess that it why he didn't try to eat again today. But he seems very interested in deodorant, hes always trying to steal it.

Bagels for Dinner
Deo is the pickiest little eater I've ever seen. I try and try to make him eat different things but he isn't very cooperative. He doesn't eat any veggies, at all! I am actually worried about his nutrition because he eats so poorly. But if he doesn't like it, he just won't eat it. And I rather him eat something than nothing at all. I've gotten him to eat broccoli and green beans once or twice (with a ton of butter on them) but the next time he sees them he turns his nose up at them. Today I made 3 different meals trying to get him to eat something other than his regular foods (which are: fish sticks, pancakes, waffles, egg & cheese sandwich, chicken nuggets, cereal and various crappy snacks) and in the end he ended up having a bagel and cream cheese for supper. Also he is so dramatic when I put something in his mouth he doesn't like, he gets so mad. He wouldn't even try the 2nd meal I made for him, just by looking at it. Thank god for vitamin supplements.
He loves any food we order when we get chinese or japanese though. He eats well at the sushi-thai restaurant. But I can't afford for him to be eating there all the time! If only I could cook like that. And I have tried to get recipes and make them at home but he isn't as excited about the food I make. I guess he eats better when we dine out in general. Again I would love to see him eat well like that everyday but thats way too expensive. I have a 1 year old that only likes to dine out!

Leave me some comments!
I finally figured out that you could change your comment settings. You can now leave comments without registering and signing in and all that. So leave me some messages!!
We've seen better days
Well it has been a hectic week. Last weekend our SUV got stolen (and recovered) and I have been spending most my time making phone calls and driving here and there,to do this and that-trying to get my life back together. It has been a nightmare.
And yesterday I found out that they used an expired (and supposed to be deactivated) paypal credit card that they found in the car and charged up hundreds of dollars in gas. The people that work at paypal are idiots I might add. I would love to stop using them but that is how I get 98% of the payments. Why hasn't someone made another company similar to Paypal?!
So in turn that makes it so I cannot ship my ebay stuff from home and the money that was in there and coming in is my spending money. All gone. It takes a while to do the paperwork to get the money back.
But I guess I should be happy that we all have our health and so on. I am trying to look at it as these things are only material things and can be replaced. Well, someday. But it is very hard.
We had a stereo system in that car that valued over $6000. I know the insurance is not going to pay for this or try their hardest not to, does anyone have any ideas of how I am supposed to handle this? What do I say when they say no?!
But on another note, Deo is doing very well. He has no idea that our life is in shambles, isn't it great to be a little kid!
He is talking more and more. Here are some of the newest and biggest things he says:
Are you okay?
Spaceship
basketball
football
and he counts down to do blast off all the time. He makes little spaceships with his blocks and makes them blast off. He is recognizing alot of the alphabet also. He says 2 and 3 and makes sounds for the rest of the numbers.
He still loves Blues Clues but Thomas the train has become very popular, some days more than Blues Clues.
Today at Sound Advice (i went there to get receipts for the stolen stuff) they had a little pretend living room set up. It had to big red chairs and he went and sat on one of them. He put his hands on his face like he was thinking and said thinking chair. It was so cute.
We also went to the mall today and I was trying on clothes in this nice store and he stunk up the whole fitting room. This poo he took was so stinky. The girls that worked there were giving me bad looks and being rude and spraying air freshener everywhere. Oh well, someday they will be mothers too and understand things like that.

Disney Pics

Here are some pics from disney. There is one great pic of Deo and I with Mickey that was taken by Disney that I have to order and have sent to me. I am going to because it actually looks good, and it is the only pic before he started screaming. He was so scared of Pluto.
For Grandpa Chris: Thanks for the gifts (the $$) for our trip to Disney. Deo got some toys and clothes with it. We appreciate it very much. I should be home next month or so, see you then!

Looks like Dada

We just came back from Disney World and are trying to settle in again. Honestly Disney doesn't seem like a good place for a 2 year old except for the water park. The parks were just too crowded with too many lines. Deo seemed to like jumping on the bed in the hotel best. He played with Gina very well and some other girls there too. I will get some pictures up hopefully by tomorrow from Disney. He screamed when we went close to Mickey or the other characters. I have one good pic of him and I with Mickey before he started screaming.
The black and white pic is of Ilich-they look so much alike!

Mexico Baby!
Friday, May 18, 2007

We got back from Mexico this Monday. The trip was wonderful, I loved every minute of it. Deo stayed with his Tita alot while Ilich and I went off site seeing. We had great meals, did a lot of shopping in the markets and got to have time alone for the first time since Deo was born. It was so nice to have so much help with Deo. And Deo loved it too! He had so much company, so many very very nice people that loved him. He says Tita, Iss (Luis), Stia (Senora Salustia)-those are some of the people he spent his days playing with. People were so nice in Mexico everywhere you went.
But he still can't say mom, I sound something like "bahyee".
He was not allowed TV the whole time! And I swear he is smarter in just a week of not being glued to the tube...I have been cutting back on his TV watching at home, I only let him watch at night when I have to do my computer stuff.
He grew while he was there, he is so big!
He only ate yogurt there the whole time, I think it was the elevation at first but later he got adjusted and I think we just didn't have the things he liked at the house. I tried to make Ilich bring me to find frozen fish sticks somewhere but he said he would be fine without them and I was crazy. So he ate bread, yogurt and pastor(pork at the taco place).
It was hot there, that is why you see Deo running around in his diaper alot.
We brought him to a Zoo and an amusement park. He loved it. I think I liked the Zoo better than him though. They let him on rides all by himself there! I was so nervous that he would jump off or something, and I was freaking out before they started the ride up. Ilich was yelling at me to relax and let him enjoy himself. And sure enough he loved it and just sat there.
I had to post some pics too for people that don't have high speed, so some pics might be there twice.
