Deo is getting into a good nighttime routine. He has a bath at about 8. The past two nights he has been screamimg like crazy after his bath. I don't know why. Maybe he is cold or something. Then he eats and we sit together for a little while and he goes into his bed. I swaddle him so he can't move and pull his BoBo out. Sometimes he lays there for a while and sometimes he falls right asleep. He will sleep for 5 or 6 hours. I go to bed at like 1 or 2 so I usually feed him at that time but I have to wake him. He is up at about 9 and goes back to sleep next to me in bed for a little while. I make him sleep a little more by laying with him and putting the BoBo back in his mouth after he spits it out 20 times. We are up by 10 or 11. He is smiling a lot now. He has also realized he likes being picked up all the time now. He didnt really know what was going on before but he is starting to find out how things work. I cry = mommy picks me up. He spends a lot of time in his snugli, while Im cleaning and working on the computer. It kills my back but that is the sacrifice one must make for a happy, quiet baby. He is getting cuter and cuter! I just want to squeeze him so hard sometimes. He always puts a smile on my face.

I guess that brings us up to date. Deo is now 9 weeks old and weighs 14 pounds. He is sleeping better at night, like 5 or 6 hours straight sometimes. He is a lot more alert and smiles more. He likes sucking on his BoBo because thats about all he can do at this point. He likes taking baths, being in his snugli pack and riding in the car also. He really likes EATING! I take him and the dog for walks, take him shopping and hang out with him at home. I can't wait until he is able to do more things.

Deo's first Christmas!

"Sleeping Santa"

We went to Massachsetts to visit my family on Dec 14th. He went on the plane and just slept the whole way. I stayed my dad for 3 weeks. Grandpa loved spending time with Deo. He took his first bath in his tubby there and smiled for the first time.

The first week was exhausting, he nursed like 24/7 and I hated staying in the hospital. We went home 48 hrs after he was born. He slept in bed with me for a while because he nursed a lot during the night. He was doing really well and everything went great. I would bring him outside a lot, for walks and to the park. He was such a big newborn! He was so strong and only cried when he was hungry. Baby (the dog) adjusted very well to Deo, she just tried to lick him all the time.

The Prince has arrived! labor was long and tramatic but worth every second and contraction. I don't know how mommy had such a big baby and lived to tell about it.

Here is an obviously very pregnant Mommy waiting in anticipation for Deo's arrival.

I am starting this blog to share what is happening in Deo's World. I will update as soon as possible as he is learning and changing so much.
I will start with a recap of his birth and how he has adapted to his first 2 months outside the womb. He is now 9 weeks old.
